I have always wanted to witness a Blessing Of The Animals, and I will be taking this opportunity on Sunday 12/11/11.
The ASPCA is holding their 3rd annual Blessing Of The Animals on Sunday at 2:00.
From their website:
“You’re invited to an event for people, big and small, and their beloved pets, whether furry or feathered. This special service, sponsored by Live Oak Bank, will include a procession of animals for blessing by Senior Minister Stephen Bauman and Senior Rabbi Peter J. Rubinstein and music by the Brooklyn Youth Chorus Academy. The ASPCA will also collect new pet toy donations for shelter cats and dogs at New York City Animal Care & Control.
All pets must be accompanied by their pet parents, and seating will be provided on a first come, first served basis. Please keep in mind that space is limited.”
When: | Sunday, December 11, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. |
Where: | Christ Church 520 Park Avenue (at 60th Street) New York, NY 10065 |
It’s FREE! But if you are going, do take a new toy or two for the shelter kitties and doggies!
Here’s a map of the location of the church:
I want to get there extra early, to get a prime seat up front!
But I don’t think I’ll take Sammy.
He’s such a home boy. He’s not that into leaving.
He’s blessed right where he is, thank you.

SAllan
He’s in the guitar case! LOL!
Anything different in the apartment he immediately jumps on or into! Silly old cat!!!

Me too – thanks for making it happen, Secretary!
I love that picture! A fleeting moment in time captured.
Yes – a great moment in our little apartment! xoxo
I would love to take Amber Rose but she would freak out completely. Which reminds me she’s going to the vet in an hour – she’l be freaking out soon!
Good luck at the vet!! xoxo
