TV Shows That Tape In NYC – How To Get Tickets For Free!

27 Sep

Months ago I tried to get audience tickets for a taping of The Colbert Report – Hubby is SUCH a fan!

These tickets are in high demand, and as of yet I haven’t had any luck.

But many TV shows tape here in New York City, and you can go on-line or email for tickets  (FREE!) and get on a wait list for just about all of them.

Anderson Cooper has a new daytime show that tapes here in NYC. It’s called Anderson, and the studio is housed in the Time Warner Center

at Columbus Circle.

A week or two back I emailed the website for a ticket.

I heard from them today – I have a ticket to attend the taping on October 4th, which also happens to be my Mom’s birthday.

Whoo hoo!

So, in honor of my Mom (what an absolute Cutie Pie!!)

I’m going to list the websites where you can go to request tickets for some of the shows taping here in NYC.

Also, thanks to this website – for your viewing delight and reading delight – here is another Cutie Patootie: Anderson Cooper  as photographed by Diane Arbus.

To dispel the growing myth that [Arbus] only took pictures of freaks, she made up a list of elegant people she wanted to photograph…As if to prove her point, she took a remarkable portrait of Gloria Vanderbilt’s sleeping baby son, Anderson Hays Cooper, for a Harper’s Bazaar Valentine issue. In this truly astonishing picture, the infant resembles a flat white death’s head — eyes sealed shut, moth pursed and moist with saliva. When Gloria Vanderbilt saw the photograph, she forbade Bazaar to publish it, but eventually she changed her mind and this stunning image opened Diane’s retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in 1972.”

Now, back to show tickets…

Links for “how to get tickets” to a variety of New York City TV shows, in no particular order, are below. Please note, all tickets are free, but some are more difficult to obtain that others. Most morning shows, such as The Today Show, don’t give out tickets – you just show up outside the building and join the crowd.

Good luck! (And, apologies if there are spacing issues below – the site today is being finicky. Just scroll down so you see all of the links if there are gaps…)
