Oh, oh, oh!
Let’s go fly a kite
Up to the highest height!
Let’s go fly a kite and send it soaring
Up through the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear
Oh, let’s go fly a kite!
This sounds like a fun thing to do in NYC this coming Sunday, 9/18/11.
And when else do you get to go play on the top of Port Authority Bus Terminal?
Sunday, September 18th, 2011 1pm – 4pm
Catch a flight from a Manhattan rooftop! The Fashion Center invites you to let your imagination soar at our annual Fashion District Kite Flight. Join us on the top of Port Authority Bus Terminal for an afternoon of kite-making, kite-flying, crafts, and free food, music and fun! The event is free and open to the public.
Location: 8th Avenue at 40th Street
Rooftop parking lot of the Port Authority Bus Terminal: 7th Floor (South Wing)
To get to the roof, enter the Port Authority’s south wing on Eighth Avenue just off of West 40th Street. Follow the Kite Flight signs to the elevator near Duane Reade. Take the elevator to the 7th floor.
Sounds like a blast! I’ll have to check it out…
P.S. Who knew that the song “Let’s Go Fly A Kite” is from the Disney film Mary Poppins, composed by brothers Richard and Robert Sherman?
