September 3rd – Antique Shows & Anniversaries!

2 Sep

Tomorrow, Saturday 9/3 (which happens to be my parent’s anniversary – Happy Anniversary, Moose & Doose!!) I am going with my pals M & E to the Stormville Airport Antique Show And Flea Market.

This wonderful-sounding event takes place several times each year (this is its 41st year!)

and for my friends it’s an annual event they look forward to. This year they invited me and Hubby to go with them.

Hubby’s going to sit this one out. But you know me – I LOVE flea markets, and I can’t WAIT for this one!!

Here’s what their website says about it:

Welcome to…
The Hudson Valley’s
Best Kept Secret!

Celebrating our 40th Year!

The Stormville Airport Antique Show & Flea Market is located in the historical and scenic Hudson Valley, on a private airport located halfway between Manhattan and Albany, right off the beautiful Taconic State Parkway.

The Stormville Flea Market started in 1970 with two dozen vendors, and today it is known as one of the Northeast’s largest antique shows and flea markets. In fact, many of our vendors have been with us since the beginning. Our success is due to the quality merchandise, reliability and trust built between our buyers and vendors.

We offer six shows a year starting in April with our “Springtime in the Country” show and ending with our “Christmas in November” show. Each offers a unique display of goods and services, including a wide variety of concessions offering just about any kind of food you desire.

Our flea market attracts over 600 vendors from more than eight states. Because of our success, shoppers travel well over one hundred miles, often by the busload, to pursue the hunt for bargains. With an extraordinary variety of antiques and collectables, as well as a large selection of new merchandise and arts and crafts, there is sure to be something for everyone.

Bring the family and explore this otherwise quiet Dutchess County town for the treasure hunt of a lifetime.

One trip to Stormville Airport Antique Show and Flea Market, and you’ll agree,
“It’s worth the trip from anywhere!”

Doesn’t this sound great?? It’ll be so much fun to browse and spend the day with M & E.

And, in honor of my parent’s anniversary (56 years!), here are a couple of pictures from September 3, 1955:

My Grandfather and my Mom (He looks like he wants to cry!)

and my Mom and my Dad, running out of the reception into a sea of rice.

September 3 is a very good day for Antique Shows & Anniversaries!

xoxo,

SAllan
