I just read this article about how they want to bring horseback riding back into Central Park.
I am all in favor!
This photo was with the article – a rider crossing the street to enter the park, back when the Claremont Riding Academy was still open.
I would really love to ride a horse along the bridle path one day.
Here is the path when my nephew P was visiting with his friend D – Hubby and I took them for a stroll along it.
And, here they are – indeed on horses in Central Park – although not quite the ones that the article is talking about…
Hubby once confided that he thought it was a “bridal path” – I had to correct him on that one.
He’s not exactly a horseman.
I wonder if I could get him to go horseback riding with me, if they reinstate the activity there?
Here I am, in a very happy time on horseback
The only other family picture that I seem to have with a horse, is this one – of my Dad on “Old Sparkplug”.
Oh, yes – and this one, of my dear Grandfather at a sales meeting (?!).
Of the three riders, I by far look the most ecstatic, don’t you agree?
As a child (and even as an adult), I begged and begged and begged my parents to get me a horse.
Nope.
Nope, nope, and nope.
But maybe someday soon, Hubby and I can go riding in Central Park.
Where do I sign up?

SAllan
That was the year old Sparky and I won the Derby
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST??
Sadly, horseback riding in Central Park still is not a done deal. I did blog about riding availability in Queens, Brooklyn and The Bronx – please check it out:
When I find out any more information, I’ll be sure to post! Thanks for reading!
