Grandparents Day

14 Mar

I have been thinking about Grandparents. Particularly mine.

A lot.

Lately, especially.

I’ve been delving into – a frustrating yet at the same time a fascinating experience.

I search and search and search  😦

then I find something!  🙂

Families are strange, aren’t they? They seem to have secrets and skeletons and more secrets.

Some seem to want to alter history.

I wish my Grandparents were still around. I’d hang around them more than I did.

I’d be a real pest!

I read that Grandparents Day this year will fall on September 11.

I don’t really like that idea too much.

So, in SAllan’s Corner – my own little world – I am altering history and declaring today Grandparents Day.

Celebrate, everybody!

Here’s my mom’s dad:

And here’s my mom’s mom:

Here they are jet-setting around somewhere:

And here they are being lovey-dovey:

And here’s just a bonus picture of TG:

Switching over to the other side of the family, here are my dad’s mom and dad:

Here’s my Grandma with my dad (on the right) and my uncle (on the left):

Here are Grandma and Grandpa being lovey-dovey (well, maybe not so much):

A bonus shot of Grandma:

and a bonus shot of Grandpa:

For those of you who have Grandparents who are still alive – call them right now! Tell them you love them, and ask questions about their family history.

Happy Grandparents Day, everybody!!

P.S. Wikipedia tells me that the Grandparents Day official flower is the Forget-Me-Not.

Very appropriate! (The site also supplied the following photo – thanks!)

Thanks! I love them, too! The one you mention – I love Grandma’s hair style!
